Meet Our Instructors

Jocelyn Berry

I discovered Pilates at the end of my dance career and wished I had discovered it at the beginning! It clarified exactly what I needed to know to move efficiently, effectively and prevent injury. Dance and movement bring great joy to me and I love sharing everything I’ve learned. I’ve been teaching Pilates for over 25 years. I hold a Master of Fine Arts in Dance/New Media from Cal Arts and became a Certified Pilates Instructor at Long Beach Dance Conditioning. I also studied Body-Mind Centering, Laban Movement Analysis, Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique, and Ideokinesis. I draw from all of these body therapy modalities to inform my style of Pilates instruction.

I discovered Pilates at age 14 while rehabilitating a dance injury. It was at first a physical therapy practice for me, but it quickly became my favorite way to work out. I’ve been a serious ballet dancer for years and recently trained in Europe, deepening the embodied, intuitive approach I bring to my clients. I became a Certified Pilates Instructor after studying at Body Arts and Sciences International, and at Pilates Sports Center in Encino. This training continues to give me the gift of understanding how to move my body in a healthy, sustainable way. I am passionate about sharing that gift with others.
